When former IBF World Middleweight Champion Darren Barker set out to complete The Longest Round Challenge in memory of the late Ricky Hatton, he needed more than a support vehicle. He needed somewhere his team could travel, carry equipment, rest, recover and regroup throughout one extraordinary journey.

AB Race Cruisers was proud to help make that possible.

The Challenge

Created in memory of Ricky Hatton, The Longest Round saw Darren travel from Edinburgh to Morocco by bike, open-water swimming and sailing - raising funds and awareness for suicide-prevention charity CALM.

More than an endurance challenge, its purpose was to encourage people to speak openly, ask for help and never struggle in silence.

A Home on the Road

Darren and his team used an AB Race Cruiser throughout the challenge, providing five belted travel seats, flexible sleeping accommodation and a large rear garage for bikes, tools and support equipment.

Between each demanding stage, it gave the team somewhere to travel, rest, recover and regroup.

The Conversation Continues.

Darren completed the challenge in Morocco on 16 September 2026, raising more than £50,000 for CALM and bringing vital conversations around men’s mental health to a wider audience.

The journey may be over, but the message remains: strength is speaking, asking for help and showing up for others.
